Genève vs. Dietikon 2-3
24.02.2026 Swiss Alpen League
In one of the most entertaining clashes of the matchday, Genève eSports fell short in a dramatic 2–3 defeat against Dietikon eSports.
From a statistical perspective, Dietikon clearly controlled the rhythm of the game. With 63% possession, 176 completed passes and 85% pass accuracy, they dictated large phases of play. Their 11 shots and 4.2 expected goals underline how consistently they managed to break into dangerous areas.
Genève, however, were far from passive. Despite just 37% possession and 113 passes at 70% accuracy, they remained efficient in front of goal. Their 89% shot accuracy shows how clinical they were when chances presented themselves. Defensively, they were extremely active, recording 75 tackles and 15 successful challenges — a sign of their aggressive approach without the ball.
The breakthrough came in the 43rd minute through B. Benny, giving Genève a crucial lead before halftime. But Dietikon responded with intensity in the second half. Denis Major equalized in the 67th minute before Ioannis turned the game around with a goal in the 70th minute. Although Ioannis later received a yellow card in the 76th minute, Dietikon maintained their composure. El Magico brought Genève back into contention in the 90th minute, but Denis Major struck again in stoppage time to seal the 3–2 victory.
Dietikon’s goalkeeper was forced into six saves, while Genève’s keeper recorded five — further evidence of an open and high-tempo encounter.
In the end, Dietikon eSports combined control, efficiency and late-game mentality to edge a thrilling contest, while Genève eSports were left to reflect on missed opportunities in a match that could have gone either way.
