02.03.2026 Swiss Alpen League
CBK Helvetics suffered a 0–2 defeat against New Team Ticino in a match that was more balanced than the final score suggests.
Ticino controlled possession with 59% and completed an impressive 209 passes at 87% accuracy, showing patience and composure in build-up. Their dribble success rate of 96% highlights strong individual quality in one-on-one situations. However, the expected goals were nearly identical (2.5 for CBK, 2.4 for Ticino), underlining how tight the contest actually was.
CBK registered seven shots compared to Ticino’s five and even posted a higher shot accuracy (86%). They were aggressive defensively as well, recording 36 tackles and 24 interceptions. Despite that intensity, they struggled in key moments and were forced into six saves, while their own goalkeeper made just one.
The breakthrough came in the 17th minute through Stucki, who gave Ticino an early lead. In the 31st minute, Tua Tia received a booking, adding pressure before halftime. After the break, tensions remained high, and Jackiechan was shown a yellow card in the 78th minute and give a penalty to New Team. Stucki stepped up and calmly converted the penalty to make it 0–2, sealing the victory with confidence and composure.
While CBK showed effort and defensive commitment, Ticino were more composed in decisive situations. Efficiency, ball control and timing made the difference in a competitive encounter.
